THINK ON CHRIST

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

Let's be honest. The past few months have been pretty crazy. At times, I'm prone to be overcome by fear and anxiety. Yet in the midst of it all, my anchor has been that God is still in control! A while back, I was deeply encouraged by a sermon from Philippians 4:8. In this crazy time, we need to stop listening to what the world is saying and instead think about Christ. Colossians 3:2 says, "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." We must be renewing our minds in God's word. Philippians 4:8 says, "Think on whatever is true..." I realized that a lot of the stuff going through my mind is not even true or uplifting. The news and media want to fill our minds with lies and fear. We need to combat that with truth. We must be actively uprooting lies and planting truth.

In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life." Instead of thinking about worldly things, take your mind off of that and let your thoughts dwell on Christ. Turn off the news, and read your Bible! Think on Christ. He alone is lovely and worthy of our thoughts. Think on what's praiseworthy, honorable, true, right, commendable, virtuous, and excellent. Stop filling your mind with garbage, and start filling it with truth. Fill your thoughts with things that will drive you to hoiness and Christ. Daily choices are SO important in our sanctification and growth. “Be a theological thinker instead of an emotional feeler.” -Pastor Ferrell. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will." Think on Christ!
